Boyd Cordner, 12. Angus Crichton, 13. Victor Radley. Interchange: 14. Mitch Aubusson, 15. Zane Tetevano, 16. Lindsay Collins, 17. Isaac Liu
Key Player
Cooper Cronk – Whilst Luke Keary showed how good a playmaker he is during the 2018 finals series, the great Cooper Cronk will still be the go to man at the Roosters and need to continue teaching Keary how to be a world class halfback.
One to Watch
Luke Keary – Keary was outstanding during the 2018 finals, and will look to continue improving in 2019. After earning a Kangaroos call up, he could soon usurp either Cleary or Maloney in the NSW side.
Rising Star
Joseph Manu – Manu showed glimpses of his class during the first half of the 2018 season, but finally came to life in the back half of the season. He was the dominant centre on the field when New Zealand played Australia after last NRL season, and will go into 2019 full of confidence.
Predicted Top Try Scorer
Brett Morris (13)
Goal Kickers
1. Latrell Mitchell, 2. Sio Siua Taukeiaho, 3. James Tedesco
SuperCoach
The Guns
James Tedesco ($689,000 | FLB) – With averages of 68, 74, 70, 68 and 74 in the past five seasons, Tedesco is a SuperCoach gun of the highest order.
Angus Crichton ($646,900 | 2RF) – Just like last season, Crichton is a gun but enters the year as a POD. What’s not to like though? Over the past two seasons, when Crichton plays 70+ minutes he has scored 50+ points in 92% of his matches and averaged 72 PPG over these games. Running off Cooper Cronk this season, expect him to cross for a few more tries too.
The PODs
Jake Friend ($481,500 | HOK) – In 2018, Friend had his worst SuperCoach season in many years due to suffering from injuries throughout the season. However once he regained full fitness, he showcased his SuperCoach ability, reverting back to an 80 minute hooking role and averaging 68.6 PPG over the final seven rounds.
The Cheapies
Mitchell Aubusson ($293,200 | 2RF/CTW) – The Roosters don’t have any top cheapies, but if one of Boyd Cordner or Angus Crichton get injured, Aubo will be a great cheapie.
Avoid
Latrell Mitchell ($595,000 | CTW) – Latrell Mitchell is a freak, and will be a must own at some stage of the season. However, given his massive price, you should be able to pick him up for cheaper after a few inevitable low scores.
Cooper Cronk ($351,900 | HFB) – Cronk has never been a great SuperCoach asset, but with an average of 38 last season, he is definitely one to avoid.
