Key Player
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck – With Shaun Johnson gone, the Dally M Medallist will need to go to another level in 2019 to give this side a chance of making the finals.
One to Watch
Jazz Tevaga – Tevaga is an extremely dangerous runner of the ball and a tireless worker.
Rising Star
Adam Keighran – Keighran was arguably the best halfback in the NSW ISP last season, and appears to be Shaun Johnson’s successor.
Predicted Top Try Scorer
David Fusitu’a (14)
Goal Kickers
1. Adam Keighran, 2. Isaac Luke, 3. Tohu Harris.
SuperCoach
The Guns
Tohu Harris ($564,400 | 2RF) – Even with Shaun Johnson gone, Harris should still score well. He regularly scored over 50 base PPG last season and did break tackles and offload, so he should score around the same, maybe a bit less, this season.
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck ($535,100 | FLB) – RTS isn’t really a SuperCoach gun, but he has gun potential. Since his comeback from an ACL injury, his base points have regularly been in the mid 30s to early 40s, and he has averaged around 20 evasive PPG over the last two seasons. Last season, he averaged just under 60 PPG, but only scored three tries and provided eight try assists. So, with SJ gone, RTS will become the most important attacker in the Warriors side, and expect him to assume some of Johnson’s former role.
The PODs
Isaiah Papali’i ($462,400 | 2RF) – When playing 30+ minutes last season, Papali’i averaged 56 PPG. Moreover, in his 30+ minute games without attacking stats last season, Papali’i still managed to average 51. Possibly playing at lock this season, his attacking potential could diminish, but his base will increase.
The Cheapies
Adam Keighran ($168,100 | 5/8/HFB) – Keighran was the leading point scorer in the NSW ISP last season with 202 points, as he kicked 81 goals and scored 10 tries, as well as providing 13 try assists. Assuming he starts at #7 for the Warriors, he appears to be the best SuperCoach cheapie in the halves.
Avoid
Isaac Luke ($484,900 | HOK) – Firstly, there are rumours that Luke won't even be a Warriors player come round 1. Secondly, with many great hookers available, including some cheaper than him, getting Luke doesn’t really make sense.
David Fusitu’a ($444,900 | CTW) – With SJ gone, it’s hard to see Fusitu’a replicating his 2018 try scoring feats.
