Key Player
Anthony Milford – ‘Milf’ was a bit lost in 2018 as the team chief playmaker, and the Broncos were worse off for it. He would have learnt from last season about how to manage games more, and should rediscover his running game under a more adventurous coach.
One to Watch
Tevita Pangai Jnr – TPJ is the full package. He is an absolute beast with his strength and speed, and is almost impossible to contain.
Rising Star
Payne Haas – The kid is a man mountain and doesn’t shy away from the heat of the battle. Look out for him to have a much bigger impact in 2019.
Predicted Top Try Scorer
Jamayne Isaako (14)
Goal kickers
1. Jamayne Isaako, 2. Jordan Kahu, 3. Anthony Milford
SuperCoach
The Guns
Tevita Pangai Jnr ($495,000 | FRF/2RF) – Probably starting at lock this season, TPJ, with his tackle busting and offloading, is a must have. Over the past two seasons, he has scored 1.05 and 1.45 in PPM, so all he needs is big minutes, and he’ll be one of the top scoring forwards.
The PODs
Anthony Milford ($511,900 | 5/8) – A former SuperCoach gun, averaging 65+ four seasons in a row, Milford was uncharacteristically poor last season. At a huge discount to what he normally starts at, expect Milford to bounce back in 2019, especially after seeing how Cody Walker played under Seibold last season.
The Cheapies
Payne Haas ($181,100 | FRF ) – The youngster should be afforded more minutes under Seibold, and recorded a great PPM of 1.19 last season.
Avoid
Jack Bird ($320,900 | CTW/5/8) – Playing only eight games last season and priced awkwardly, it is best to avoid Bird to start the season as he comes back from injury.
